What is going on in our country right now?
I just wanted to comment on the tea parties first. I attended the Ft. Worth tea party and I thought it was great. It was a collection of about 5,500 patriotic american's standing up for their country. We're tired of the way our elected officials are behaving in D.C. and that was the true nature of the protest's. We wanted to protest big government, uncontrolled spending, taxation without true representation. The list could go on and on. But now the liberal left is in full attack mode. David Axelrod called the protest's "unhealthy". Janeane Garofalo called the protest's a collection of racist's who don't like our president simply because he's black. Paul Bengala called the people in attendance "Wimpy, whiney weasels who don't love their country". I'm sorry Mr. Bengala but I do love my country. Very much. That's why I attended a tea party. Mrs. Garofalo, I'm not a racist and I don't like my current president for many true, correct reasons. It has nothing to do with race. They only people still bringing up the race card is the liberal left. Mr. Axelrod, it's completely healthy to protest against our government. Look at all the protest's against President Bush. Was that unhealthy. Was it racist for black people to protest against Bush because he's white. Are the Bush protestor's wimpy, whiney weasels who don't love their country? These are questions that I wish one liberal would answer with a straight honest answer.
Torture is what it is. Torture. It has been used for many years and is not a new idea or tactic. I want my government to do whatever is necessary to protect this country and all americans, liberal's included. I don't care how it's done. I might not want to know exactly what is going on. Call that statement whatever you want to, I don't care. I just know that under Clinton you had the first attack on the world trade center, then 9/11. Yes, I know Bush was in office but we all know that attack had been planned for years (Clinton years) and then carried out under the new President's watch. Since then, nothing. So whatever our government has been doing, it seems to be working and I trust they will continue to do to whatever is necessary. Now if you were a lawyer or high ranking official, would you really advise the president or would you hold back being fearful that the next administration might prosecute you for what you might have advised the president to do. This is not right in my opinion. We must allow these people to do what is necessary to protect our country and all of us.
The media is out of control in this counrty. Do we still have any form of media beyond your local media. That's the place I know where I can actually get a true form of news, non biased. We watch show's like Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reily, Lou Dobb's, Keith Olberman, Rachel Maddow, etc. but do we really think they are presenting news to us. At least people like Beck come right out and say they are not journalist's but commentor's. This is not news people, this is commentary about what is going on in the news. We must realize this and treat is as such. To take what is said on Fox by their commentator's can be dangerous and yet also informative, so we must draw the line. There are crazy people out there and will go off the deep end with just the right push at the right time. Although I cannot watch any programming on MSNBC (the official Obama news station), at least I can get a good idea about the world / U.S. news from the commentator's on the other channels and make my own judgement about what the heck is going on.
And to state it bluntly, it's not good news from our country right now. But I know that we can turn this thing around if we get down to basics, live by a true moral code, pratice good principle's and values and become the nation that our founding father's intended it to be.
